Glorious summer...in Arizona it comes with high temps and a much slower pace. However, that doesn't seem to change the energetic steps of the construction and design trades. Most often, out of town clients want us to complete their projects while they are just that.......out of town.
We've just begun the design concept for a master bathroom remodel. This home is located in a community quite near the renown Scottsdale Princess Resort. It's a great area, but truly, there are many "great areas" in Scottsdale and the nearby Paradise Valley and Arcadia neighborhoods.
This home is located in a gated community, built in 1994. You know that that means........it's really ready for a renovation.

Our design concept starts with all new finishes and to modernize the space by extending the back wall behind the built-in bathtub; thus implementing a fabulous wet room design.
What is a Wet Room?
A wet room is a space fully constructed with materials designed to get wet. Sometimes this means outfitting an entire bathroom in water-friendly materials. Many new wet rooms include a shower space and freestanding tub in their own glass enclosure separate from the sink and toilet areas. Find out more about this hot design trend on HGTV.com.
Note that access to the bathtub is very limited in the photo above. You literally must crawl around the tub filler to enter the bathtub. We definitely want to provide the client with a free-standing bathtub (no more built-ins here) and the space required to fit both a bathtub and shower will be a tight fit. Hence, the perfect solution, a "wet room"!
